The PORTIA Desktop
Clients have been asking for a 'view' of PORTIA
for the front office and, since many of our PORTIA clients use Thomson One Investment
Management (TOIM) in their front office, we responded to this need by creating
The PORTIA Desktop. This application is specifically designed to support front
office staff, such as Portfolio Managers or Analysts, who do not use PORTIA directly
but who rely on PORTIA data. The PORTIA Desktop will give these users direct access
to PORTIA holdings and performance data via Thomson One Investment Management
(TOIM) v5.0, enhancing Thomson Financials overall desktop solution for Portfolio
Managers, making their lives easier and optimizing their work flows.
Thomson
One Investment Management (TOIM) is an integrated desktop solution suite created
specifically for the buy-side community. It was designed for the Portfolio Manager
and Analyst and unites all of Thomson's content and functionality onto a single
platform, which can be tailored to meet the unique workflow needs of different
buy-side constituents.
The design of the PORTIA Desktop has a consistent
look and feel and familiar usability for its TOIM users. PORTIA data will be generated
within TOIM by a batch process running PORTIA holdings and performance reports,
which can be defined and customized by each client. Up to 30 days of data can
be stored on the network. Within TOIM, end users have the ability to view PORTIA
data in a variety of ways by making run time parameter selections, sorting data
on the fly, viewing graphical representation, printing or sending results to Microsoft
Excel.

The PORTIA Desktop is available to PORTIA 7.0B and TOIM 5.0
clients at no additional cost. Additional software requirements are Microsoft
.NET and Internet Information Server (IIS).
